Committee & Leadership Day
Note: November 12 is a pre-conference working day dedicated to committee and organizational meetings — not part of the main conference sessions. The public conference begins November 13. These meetings are primarily for Farm Bureau members and committee participants.
Board of Directors Meeting
The Alaska Farm Bureau Board of Directors meets to discuss organizational strategy, financial matters, and upcoming policy priorities. This is a closed meeting for board members only.
Young Farmers & Ranchers Meeting
Young and beginning farmers gather to discuss programs, events, and opportunities specifically designed for the next generation of Alaska agriculture. Open to all YF&R members and those interested in joining.
Commodity Committee Meetings
Commodity-specific committees meet to review market conditions, policy needs, and research priorities for their sectors. Committees include Livestock, Produce, Floriculture, Apiculture, and Hemp.

Annual Business Meeting
The annual meeting is an important opportunity for members to participate in the decision-making process and ensure their voices are represented. Voting delegates from Farm Bureau chapters across the state convene to debate and vote on policy resolutions, elect leadership, and set the direction for the coming year.
What Happens at the Annual Meeting
Policy Resolutions
Delegates vote on proposed policy resolutions that guide the Farm Bureau's advocacy at state and national levels.
Board Elections
Leadership elections for the Board of Directors, ensuring representation from across Alaska's diverse agricultural regions.
Annual Reports
Officers and committee chairs present reports on the organization's activities, finances, and accomplishments.
Bylaw Amendments
Proposed changes to organizational bylaws are discussed and voted upon by eligible delegates.
Who Are Voting Delegates?
Voting delegates are members elected by their local Farm Bureau chapters to represent their communities at the annual meeting. Each chapter is entitled to a specific number of delegates based on membership.
- Delegates must be active Farm Bureau members in good standing
- Each chapter selects delegates through their own processes
- Non-delegate members are welcome to attend and observe
